HarbourFront Centre redevelopment and timeline

HarbourFront Centre will close its doors in the second half of 2026 to make way for a full-scale redevelopment. Once completed, the familiar building will be replaced by a 33-storey mixed-use development featuring both office and retail spaces.

The ambitious redevelopment is expected to take around five years, with the new building slated for completion by the first half of 2031. During this period, operations currently based at the centre, such as ferry and cruise services, will be relocated to a temporary terminal nearby to ensure continuity.

Project features and design

The new HarbourFront Centre is designed to offer a fresh, future-ready environment where you can work, shop, and relax seamlessly. The development will feature 26 floors of Grade A offices, designed to meet the needs of modern businesses seeking high-quality workspaces in a well-connected location.

In addition, five levels will be dedicated to engaging and experiential spaces, which are expected to house retail outlets, dining options, and lifestyle experiences. The entire project will span an impressive gross floor area of about 123,000 square metres, offering ample room for both work and leisure.

One of the most exciting additions will be a 13,000-square-metre elevated park, located beside a newly built waterfront promenade. Here, you’ll be able to unwind, take in the panoramic views of the Singapore Strait, or simply enjoy the open green space. The development will also provide 360-degree views that stretch from the sea in the south to the Southern Ridges and city skyline in the north – creating a truly scenic setting unlike any other in the area.

Sustainability and green features

Sustainability is a key focus of the HarbourFront Centre redevelopment. The new design will include a range of eco-friendly and energy-efficient features to support Singapore’s push toward a greener built environment.

The building will be fitted with a solar photovoltaic system to reduce dependence on grid electricity, alongside smart lighting systems to help manage energy use efficiently. It will also feature sustainable water management practices and provide electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to support cleaner transport choices.

If you prefer cycling to work, you’ll be glad to know that the new HarbourFront Centre will also include bicycle parking and end-of-trip facilities. These amenities will be integrated with the coastal cycling network that runs through the Greater Southern Waterfront, encouraging healthier and more sustainable commuting habits.

Location and surrounding developments

The redeveloped HarbourFront Centre will sit in a prime location, flanked by VivoCity on the east and HarbourFront Tower One and Tower Two on the west. It will also be right beside the new two-storey cruise and ferry terminal, which will open around the same time the centre closes in 2026.

Currently, ferry and cruise operations take place at the HarbourFront Passenger Terminal located within HarbourFront Centre. These operations will move to a new interim terminal next to the existing complex by the second half of 2026, ensuring that travel services continue without disruption while redevelopment takes place.

Once completed, the new HarbourFront Centre will stand as part of a larger network of lifestyle, commercial, and transport facilities, making the precinct one of the most attractive waterfront destinations in Singapore.

Accessibility and connectivity

You’ll find getting to the new HarbourFront Centre even more convenient in the coming years. The site is directly linked to HarbourFront MRT Station, which serves both the North East Line (NEL) and Circle Line (CCL).

What’s more, the completion of the Circle Line loop in the first half of 2026 will make the area even more accessible before the redevelopment begins. This means that when the new centre opens its doors in 2031, you’ll be able to reach it easily from almost anywhere in Singapore.

Developer and vision

The redevelopment is being led by Mapletree Investments, which owns and manages the HarbourFront Centre site. The company’s goal is to create a sustainable, mixed-use destination that reflects the evolving needs of both businesses and visitors.

According to Mapletree, the new development is designed to enhance the overall HarbourFront precinct as part of the broader Greater Southern Waterfront transformation. The project aims to provide immersive, lifestyle-oriented spaces that integrate seamlessly with nature and waterfront access, allowing people to work, shop, and relax all within a single connected environment.
