Five distinct persons per day may attend property visits to view homes already inhabited by a household. Open house activities remain suspended.

With the Multi-Ministry Taskforce (MTF) increasing the cap on permissible group size from two to five persons from Tuesday (10 August), the Council for Estate Agents (CEA) has mandated estate agents and real estate salespersons to ensure that no more than five distinct persons per day may visit a property that is inhabited by a household.

“The five distinct persons include you and any other person who is visiting the property,” it said in a circular issued last Friday (6 August).

“You will need to check that your client and the property occupant(s), if the client does not live at the property being visited, are aware of the updated rules, and the number of visitors that may visit the property per day.”

It also revealed that estate agents and real estate salespersons can now conduct door-to-door marketing activities, which include flyer distribution to business premises and households.

However, marketing of properties in public spaces, as well as open house activities, will continue to be suspended due to a higher risk of transmission, said CEA.

It noted that the circular supersedes the advisory issued on 20 July, in which the permissible group size was slashed to two persons.

“We encourage you to get vaccinated if you are medically eligible and have not done so, and seek your continued support and cooperation to protect the health and safety of your employees, real estate salespersons, clients and the community,” added CEA.
