Best HDB flats and condos to enjoy the NDP fireworks

Who says you’ll only be able to get a good view of the National Day Parade (NDP) fireworks if you head to an expensive restaurant or bar in the Marina Bay area?

In this blog post, we share some HDB flats and condos where you can enjoy the fireworks. Whether you’re morally opposed to paying through the nose for a mediocre cocktail, or you’re trying to spend more responsibly, this list will be right up your alley.

HDB blocks to watch the fireworks from

#1: The Pinnacle @ Duxton

The Pinnacle @ Duxton is arguably one of the most iconic and well-known HDB flats in Singapore. This 50-storey residential development is located at Cantonment Road, and features the world’s two longest sky gardens of 500 metres each.

Note that the sky garden on the 26th floor is exclusive to residents, while the one on the 50th floor is accessible to the public from 9am to 9pm, for a S$6 fee.

Address: Pinnacle @ Duxton, 1 Cantonment Road, Singapore 080001

#2: SkyVille @ Dawson

SkyVille @ Dawson is another one of those HDB projects that, regardless of which angle you view it from, simply doesn’t look like an HDB project. The project was designed by an award-winning local architectural firm, WOHA Architects, and was completed back in 2015 under HDB’s “Remaking Our Heartland” initiative.

Unlike Pinnacle @ Duxton, you’re free to roam around this project; you’ll be glad to know that the sky garden on the 47th floor is accessible to the public from 7am to 10pm.

Address: SkyVille @ Dawson, 86 – 88 Dawson Road

#3: Bras Basah Complex

Ask your fellow Singaporeans about Bras Basah Complex, and they’ll probably tell you that it’s the old-school open-air mall that sells used books, or that there’s a huge Art Friend there. That aside, there’s actually an HDB block located above Bras Basah Complex, and the views that you get from here are pretty amazing.

Address: Bras Basah Complex, 231 Bain Street, Singapore 180231

#4: Toa Payoh Central Horizon

Instead of squeezing amongst hordes of people at Marina Bay, why not spend your National Day in the heartlands, at Toa Payoh?

Here, you’ll be able to indulge in delicious zichar and snack on muachee from a 60-year-old heritage stall before heading to Central Horizon to enjoy a spectacular view of the fireworks. The project features five blocks standing at an impressive 40 floors high, as well as a sky garden on the 12th floor.

Address: Central Horizon, 79A – 79E Toa Payoh Central

#5: McNair Towers

If you’re living along the North-East Line, check out McNair Towers, which is located a short stroll away from Boon Keng MRT. The residential blocks in this BTO project are designed to maximise the views of Sungei Whampoa and the city, and we hear that you can see all the way to the Singapore Flyer from level 35.

Address: McNair Towers, Blk 113A – 113D McNair Road

Condos to watch the fireworks from

Here’s our list of condominiums from which you’ll get a stellar view of the NDP fireworks. If you happen to have a friend who lives there (or you’re ballsy enough to try and sneak in), you’ll definitely get a great view of the fireworks!

#1: The Sail @ Marina Bay

Standing at 245 metres and 70 storeys high, The Sail @ Marina Bay is one of Singapore’s tallest apartments. The condominium affords residents (and visitors!) with panoramic city views of Marina Bay, and it’s an excellent location for fireworks-watching.

Psst: If you can’t get in, the back-up plan is to head down to The Lawn @ Marina Bay (located between The Sail and Marina Bay Financial Centre), which will also give you a good view of the fireworks.

Address: The Sail @ Marina Bay, 2 – 6 Marina Boulevard

#2: Marina Bay Residences

Marina Bay Residences houses 428 apartments spread across 55 storeys. While it isn’t quite as tall as The Sail, it’s still majestic in its own right. There’s a Sky Lounge on the 47th floor that’s exclusive to residents, so see if you can tag along with a friend and watch the fireworks there.

Address: Marina Bay Residences, 18 Marina Boulevard, Singapore 018980

#3: V On Shenton

V On Shenton is a mixed development located along Shenton Way; it doesn’t just house residential apartments, but also an office tower. The building is 237 metres high, and offers lovely views of the Marina Bay area.

Amenities-wise, there are three levels of sky gardens where you can watch the National Day fireworks from. Before you leave, it’s worth taking a few minutes to check out the gym, which comes with breathtaking views of the sea.

Address: V On Shenton, 5A Shenton Way, Singapore 068814

#4: One Shenton

One Shenton comprises two 50 and 43-storey towers that rise above a sleek-looking podium, and this condominium offers unobstructed views of the Singapore skyline.

For the best views, head to levels 24 and 25, which are known as the Wellness Levels. Here, you’ll find an array of recreational facilities, including a Yoga Terrace, Outdoor Exercise Terrace, Spa Garden, and Relaxation Alcove. Once you’ve toured the place, head to the Sky Lounge to count down for the fireworks.

Address: One Shenton, 1 Shenton Way, Singapore 068803

#5: Robinson Suites

Robinson Suites is slightly further from Marina Bay (it’s actually located nearer to Telok Ayer), but you’ll still be able to get a great view of the fireworks from this condominium. The condo is 42 storeys tall, and houses 167 units in total. You can either head to the Garden Terrace on the 7th floor, or the Sky Park on the 19th floor for a view of the fireworks.

Address: Robinson Suites, 50 Robinson Road, Singapore 068882
