Despite being the most expensive units in this month’s sales exercise, the five-room Build-To-Order (BTO) flats in Toa Payoh (Bidadari) were still hotly contested.

The Straits Times (ST) reported that Bartley Beacon’s 144 five-room flats received over six first-time applicants each as at 5pm on Monday (23 November).

Demand from second-timer applicants were even stronger, with each five-room unit getting over 152 applications from such group of buyers.

The biggest flat types on offer at the Bidadari estate project, the five-room flats are priced from $627,000 to $726,000, excluding grants.

The 910 four-room flats in Parkview @ Bidadari and Bartley Beacon were less popular with about three first-time applicants each.

First-time applicants for the 184 three-room flats at the two projects have a better chance of snagging a unit as it received just slightly more applicants than the units offered, noted the ST report.

Over in Bishan, the 1,222 four-room flats at Bishan Ridges also received robust interest with close to five first-time applicants each.

Located near Bishan MRT station, the flats were the second priciest units in the November sales exercise with prices ranging between $528,000 and $679,000.

Bishan Ridges’ 124 three-room flats, on the other hand, attracted less interest with three first-time applicants each.

In Tampines, the 244 five-room and 360 four-room flats at Tampines GreenEmerald housing project attracted three first-time applicants each.

Sembawang’s larger flats were also highly sought after, with the 184 five-room flats at Sun Sails housing project attracting four first-time applicants.

The project’s 238 four-room and 84 three-room flats saw about three first-time applicants each.

In Tengah – which is the first HDB new town in more than 20 years – the 327 five room flats saw almost three first-time applicants vying for each unit, while the 570 four-toom flats attracted about two applicants each.

The first to be completed around Q1 2024, the flats are spread across the Garden Terrace @ Tengah and Garden Court @ Tengah housing projects.

The HDB is set to launch around 3,500 BTO flats in Bukit Batok, Kallang/Whampoa, Tengah and Toa Payoh (Bidadari) in February 2021.

Another 3,800 flats will be launched in Bukit Merah, Tengah, Geylang and Woodlands next May.
