5 studio apartments under S$2,000 you can rent

More people have turned to rent over the pandemic in a bid for more privacy and personal space. Studio apartments are fast becoming a popular choice, striking the sweet spot between being cost-effective and enjoying sufficient living space.

What is a studio apartment?

A studio apartment is a one-room living space that is self-contained. These shoebox units are usually 500 sq ft or less. Unlike in a 1-bedroom apartment, there are no walls separating the bedroom from the living and kitchen area. The only room with a door is the bathroom, which we don’t need to point out why, for obvious reasons.

Living in a studio apartment with a roommate will definitely bring both of you closer, due to space constraints.

Who are studio apartments for?

If you’re single or a couple looking for a cosy nest to call your own without burning a hole in your wallet, a studio apartment is perfect for you. Two is a company, and three’s a crowd – any more than two people in a studio and it’ll be quite the squeeze.

As with all apartments for rent, the price varies depending on factors such as:

• Amenities (pool, gym, jacuzzi etc.)
• Furnishings (apartments that come with furniture tend to charge a higher rent)
• Proximity to the city centre (the more central it is, the more expensive the rent)

Here are 5 studio apartments you can rent for under S$2,000.
