I can totally feel your pain. I went through a similar experience engaging an ID that was recommended by a friend. Just getting the quotation aligned took a good 7 months and there were still errors. Just glad I decided to terminate their services and moved on to a contractor instead. My renovations are now finally completed and it took the contractor only 4 months. For many of us new home owners, it is perceived that having an ID would save us time from the project management. However with what I have encountered, I really beg to differ. Having a reliable contractor is way better and you do not need to deal with the shady practices commonly used by IDs. Sorry not to bucket all IDs as bad but the industry has built itself a nasty reputation.
